Despite the promises made to the lawyers to warn them, to prevent them from traveling and searching for the place of detention, the prison administration and the authorities, who are parasitizing the detention of my client, failed in their words and removed Ousmane Sonko from the prison overnight. resuscitation room, without warning or informing the lawyers, the attending physician as well as his personal doctor.

No one would have dared to imagine a decline in Senegal to this extent, an arrogance of the authorities as well as the contempt, the belligerent and outrageous practices and behavior of the administration towards the actors of justice, the medical profession, society civil, of bodies of the State remaining faithful to the Constitution, the laws and simply to morals and democratic ethics.

 The International Community, outside the Inter-Parliamentary Union, observes and remains silent, even though it has conclusive evidence and mechanisms enabling it to curb the excesses of a small group of individuals, who have installed a dictatorship blind, and repressive and which has prepared for systematic and generalized attacks against the civilian population, within the framework of a policy, the aim of which is to obstruct a democratic alternation, as was carried out in the past recent with deaths and hundreds of serious injuries.

 Everything is done to distort the popular will on the evening of February 24, 2024, by depriving Ousmane Sonko of his electoral rights, and in my opinion, it could not be excluded that the arrogance displayed has the sole aim of exceeding a people, peaceful to lead them to democratic demonstrations which would be repressed as a pretext for the postponement of elections and the installation of a bloody dictatorship.

 Senegal hides under the narrow sheet of its national sovereignty,

  defying and offending international sovereignty and what is disturbing is that international sovereignty is not displayed through its organs outside the Inter-Parliamentary Union, a fortiori assuming and imposing itself, whereas it is said to be the guarantor of values whose violation is a vector of unrest threatening peace and security in the sub-regions, and even in the world.

 Whatever the prison in which my client is locked up, I repeat that the popular demand remains and will remain for his release, as quickly as possible since his detention is the result of judicial and police intrigues,

 unacceptable for the social body and an International Community, remaining faithful to the ideals proclaimed in the universal declaration of human rights of 1948, and that of the rights of man and of the citizen of 1789 which enshrines the right to resistance to the oppression.
